We are currently looking for a Business Unit Manager for our Chandler, AZ location:
BUSINESS UNIT MANAGER
Develops and implements business plans and strategies to support the division's profit objectives and manages the MDS business unit in accordance with divisional and corporate protocols. The MDS Business Unit Manager is responsible for the P&L, investment and sales/marketing strategies, as well as providing product roadmaps. Responsibilities also include delivering services and new products to customers to achieve maximum penetration and pricing consistent with short and long-term objectives.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following (other duties may be assigned):
-Handles P & L responsibility for all MDS Business Units globally, to include strategic planning and annual budgeting.
-Manages direct and shared resources to accomplish the business unit revenue, profit and growth goals.
-Develops and implements a sales/market strategy that facilitates the targeted market share growth in all market segments.
-Development of new products in conjunction with R&D groups to meet requirements in identified markets.
-Researches and provides market forecasts and supply chain recommendations to operations in order to ensure sufficient capacity.
-Develops and recommends specific sales and marketing initiatives for business units represented.
-Maintains favorable relations with all customers, including directing the administration of all promotional activities, and ensures that all customer support is in line with corporate policy and procedures.
-Completes specific business improvement projects for the Division as assigned by the Site Management.
SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES
Manages direct and shared resources in support of product sales, technical sales and field applications requirements. Directly manages the Director of Business Development and Strategic Initiatives and the Worldwide Sales and Marketing Director.
EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE
B.S./B.A. degree in Business or related field required. MS in Business or Operational Management preferred. A minimum of 10 years related experience required, to include international business experience, ability to comprehend financial reports including budgetary guidelines and project expenditures, ability to assign and delegate work, problem solve, answer questions and evaluate results of performance, ability to set realistic and accurate goals, deadlines and timelines, ability to exercise independent judgment to determine project guidelines, purpose and follow through, ability to visualize and assess abstract ideas to develop and implement structured plans, and ability to define and lead teams to goal completion. Excellent oral and written communication skills required. Must possess a high level of maturity and exercise sound judgment in all dealings and associations with peers, employees and customers.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS
Up to 50% travel required including overseas. While performing the duties of this position, the incumbent is regularly required to reach with hands and arms and talk and hear. The employee frequently is required to walk, sit, and use hands to finger, handle, or feel. The incumbent is occasionally required to stand and stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl. The incumbent must occasionally lift and/or move up to 20 pounds.
